The KEY to Life is Presence.
That’s it.
If I had to sum up all of life, it would be this: Be here now. Honestly, that could be the end of this article. In fact, it could be the beginning and end of my entire content platform.
I wish it were that simple—lol.
In truth, it is that simple. This moment is all there is. The isness of this moment is the only place we can ever truly exist. Yet, staying present doesn’t always come easily. Why is that?
The answer is simple: Your attachment to the mind.
But the mind itself is anything but simple. It’s a complex entity—a vast web of thoughts, memories, and beliefs that we’ve accumulated over a lifetime. We didn’t choose what got programmed into our minds, and yet, we often feel powerless over what it says or does.
If you’re reading this, you might already suspect that the mind is what keeps you from being present. But then the next question arises:
How do I get rid of the mind?
Here’s the thing—you can’t get rid of your mind. You already know this. Anyone who’s tried to silence their mind, to suppress it or push it away, ends up in the same place: trapped in a new mental prison. This is the trap of “spiritual cages”—a shiny set of beliefs and practices that only create a new layer of identity and attachment.
That’s not to say spiritual practices are useless. Nothing is inherently good or bad. But most practices feed the mind, reinforcing the illusion that we need something outside of ourselves to be happy, peaceful, or “enlightened.” It keeps us in a state of seeking.
But who is doing the seeking?
Is it the Awareness that sees the mind, or is it the mind itself that is constantly searching?
The Awareness—the one that notices your thoughts—is who you truly are. It’s not even a “state” of being. It just is. It doesn’t come and go. It’s the silent witness, the background of all experiences. It sees the mind, but it never judges, controls, or tries to change anything.
And here’s the real mind-bender:
It’s the mind that tries to get rid of the mind.
Yeah, that’s a paradox. The mind creates the problem, then tries to solve it by fighting itself. Meanwhile, the Awareness—your true self—just watches the whole circus unfold without any need to interfere.
So the solution isn’t to “get rid” of the mind. It’s to see the mind without identifying with it. To let thoughts come and go without getting entangled in them.
Keep watching. Keep allowing. And don’t fall into the trap of thinking you are your mind.
I love you. Remember who you are.
